Kawai CA59 Digital Piano
Proceeding the CA58, the Kawai CA59 Digital Piano continues the legacy of premium digital pianos with new features and improvements. In collaboration with Onkyo, Kawai introduces a new motherboard and amplification system to deliver rich, high fidelity audio. The CA59 includes an additional grand piano sound, the new Shigeru Kawai SK-5 source. For an organic and genuine playing experience, the CA59 retains the Grand Feel Compact wooden-key keyboard action. With the USB connectors, the CA59 allows convenient audio data transferring and storing. The CA59 demonstrates playing excellence, providing pianists of all levels an immaculate piano experience.
The latest Grand Feel Compact keyboard action gives the CA59 its authentic piano touch. All 88-keys are made from long wood pieces, applied with Ivory touch key surfaces. The hammers are grade-weighted, with bass counterweights. Like an acoustic grand, the keys rest on a pivoting metal balance pin, with extended length for an evenly-balanced touch weight. The let off-simulation notifies the players with light notch sensation, for aided control for delicate passages of music. The CA59 is able perform soft, rapid trills, due to its responsive triple-sensor key detection system that registers repeated notes with accuracy and consistency.
Through Kawai’s Harmonic Imaging technology, the CA59 faithfully replicates the trinity of the world-renowned grand pianos; Shigeru Kawai SK-EX full concert, Kawai EX concert, and now the Shigeru Kawai SK-5 mid-sized. By meticulously recording each piano, Kawai captures the characteristics and properties unique to each of these pianos. This process gives the CA59 an exceptional range of expressiveness and qualities for players to explore.
The Grand Feel Pedal system offers players three pedal options: sustain (with half-pedal support), soft, and sostenuto. The pedals on the CA59 reproduce the individual weighting of the three pedals on the Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand piano, further enhancing the realism.
The CA59 offers many features that add to its versatility. The Spatial Headphone Sound technology enhances the realism of the pianos sound when listening through headphones. This is perfect for discerning players who wish to practice quietly or privately. Lesson books are programmed into the CA59, ranging from beginner to advanced levels. A metronome and internal recorder aids players to critically review their playing.
Bluetooth MIDI and Audio technology that allows wireless connection with smart devices. Kawai created a number of apps to enhance the digital piano experience, one of the most notable is the Virtual Technician. The Virtual Technician which allows users to refine various parameters of their CA59 to fit their musical needs and style in real time.
The equipped USB connectors further expands the CA59’s practicality and versatility. These ports allow computers or USB memory devices to connect to piano, great for saving instrument settings or recorded songs/performances. USB memory devices can also play back MP3 or WAV files out of the CA59’s speaker system, allowing musicians to play along to backing tracks.
Standard MIDI jacks are available for connecting to other instruments. Complementing the acoustic piano sources, the CA59 includes a wide variety of other instrument presets, from electric piano, strings, choirs, and synth pads.
